With 21 straight appearances, the Red Wings have made the playoffs every season since 1990, the longest postseason streak in North American sports. Some people associated with the team would rather catch up on sleep than battle through another long playoff run.

Duncan Keith got into a bit of a verbal scuffle earlier this week following the Hawks' 3-1 loss to Vancouver 3-1 when a female reporter from Vancouver asked him about an uncalled slash to Daniel Sedin; Keith responded with a bit of sarcasm saying she should become the "first female referee." The defenseman apologized Wednesday after after team's 4-1 win in Edmonton, but only got himself in more hot water.

“We were all out on the ice and I don’t think anybody noticed until the smoke started pouring out of their ears,” said Duncan Keith. “Somebody said coach’s mustache grew by like an inch at one point.”

"This team needs to learn that Ducks are weak animals that can be easily dominated," said Quenneville. "I put these games in the locker room so we can gain some confidence heading into the playoffs by blasting animated ducks over and over again."

"I never thought of embracing Jesus Christ as the one true savior, but then I stumbled on Christian Mingle," said Kane.
