ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said Penn State’s 29-6 loss to Northwestern Saturday was the worst thing to ever happen to the once-proud Nittany Lions football program.
“This Penn State program is at the lowest I’ve ever seen it,” said Herbstreit. “How do you let a very mediocre Northwestern program come into your house and beat you by 23? It’s just unconscionable.”
Added Herbstreit: “Unless there’s some unspeakable decades-long tragedy that the administrators and others in power at the school systematically covered up that I’m not remembering right now, this loss is the worst thing to ever happen to the Penn State football program.”
