The Emilio Bonifacio era in Chicago ended almost as quickly as as it began as Theo Epstein shipped the hot-hitting utility man to the Angels for Mike Trout. Bonifacio is currently hitting .668, a stat Epstein was able to leverage to acquire the best player in the league.

“We’ll miss Emilio and his .600-plus batting average,” said Epstein, “but we feel Mike Trout will be a better long-term solution for us, even though he’s currently only batting a pedestrian .400.”
