MLB Commissioner Bud Selig said Friday morning that he’s extremely grateful the World Series is going to a Game 7 for the first time since 2002, giving the league a game that fans from around the globe are nearly as eager to watch as they are every year when the Super Bowl rolls around.

“Despite what the declining TV ratings and attendance will tell you, I’ve long said that baseball is the ultimate sport for viewers,” said Selig. “It’s very exciting that we get to showcase our game to the entire world when our championship series goes to a deciding seventh game once every decade or so.”
