The Cubs further filled out one spot on the starting rotation Friday by coming to terms with Jake Arrieta, after their former ace spent three mediocre seasons with the Phillies.

“We are all about adding depth at all positions, and that includes our fifth starting pitcher,” said President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer. “Now we just need to focus on three other spots in our rotation, four if we trade Kyle Hendricks.”
