After a devastating overtime Blackhawks loss in Game 2 was followed by a limp, uninspired effort in Game 3, local Blackhawks fan John Kresge spent most of the week bitterly offering congratulations to the Boston Bruins, only to abruptly reverse his prediction to guarantee a Blackhawks victory after their grueling Game 4 victory.

“With Toews and Kaner finally getting on the score sheet, it’s just a matter of time before we take home the cup. Hawks in six!” the Lisle, Illinois resident told co-workers this morning, a mere 24 hours after telling the same office-mates that the Bruins “just wanted it more” and that there was “no stopping Rask.”

Kresge also expressed his optimism on Facebook, where he posted a picture of Seabrook’s game winner with a caption stating, “The boys are clicking on all cylinders at the best possible time, I like our chances!”  The most recent post before that was submitted Tuesday morning, which said, “Congrats to the Bruins, I guess.  Ugh.  I don’t even think I’m gonna watch game 4, we’re clearly going to lose.”

When reached for comment, Kresge told reporters, “What are you talking about?  I’ve always been behind the team, 100 percent.  Go Hawks!”
