The Cubs today announced more than a half million tickets to games next season will be priced at $20 or less, a 77 percent increase in the number of tickets fans don’t want to buy.

“We’re talking the really crappy seats,” said Cubs President Crane Kenney. “Behind poles … 500-level seats way down the line … the real bad stuff.”

Meanwhile, good seats like club boxes will remain listed for more than $100 a pop.

“We wanted to give back to our most dedicated fans,” said Kenney. “And let’s be honest. They’re not the ones sitting right behind home plate. The die-hards are the ones in the crappy seats, so that’s why those will be cheaper next year. You’re welcome!”
