Former Bears safety Chris Harris, now a member of the Detroit Lions, is hoping to exact revenge on the team that let him go by only giving up one long touchdown play Sunday night, as opposed to the two or three he typically surrendered during his time with Chicago.
“I’m gonna show Jerry and Lovie I’m only marginally washed-up now,” tweeted Harris. “Good luck getting more than one 70+ yarder against me is all I’m saying.”
Harris, who spent his first stint with the Bears in 2005-2006 building a reputation as a credible defender, returned last year and immediately began getting burned multiple times per game.
“Maybe I let Johnny [Knox] slip behind me for no good reason,” said Harris. “Or maybe Roy Williams finally gets a long score because I was on the wrong side of the field or whatever. Either way, one and done. There won’t be a second. The Bears will slightly regret releasing me … I can promise you that.”
