After setting a mark for the most false-starts by a team all season in the first half alone, theĀ  Bears offensive line collectively committed an additional five penalties during the five hour bus ride back to Chicago following their 24-13 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Bears left tackle J’Marcus Webb, who was whistled for three of the false-start penalties, including a momentum killing call as the bus was about to go through the Skyway, was quick to accept blame.

“Listen, did I move before the snap as we merged onto the I-90?” he asked. “Absolutely. We all have to take some of the blame, but the fact of the matter is that the bus was very loud, and it was hard to hear the count.”

Apart from the false-start penalties, the rest of the drive back to Chicago went relatively smoothly, except for a holding penalty on offensive tackle Frank Omiyale that negated a bathroom run at a Shell gas station.
