After reeling in prized free agents LeBron James and Chris Bosh during an epic off-season, the Miami Heat began their historic run to a winless season with an 88-80 loss to the Celtics in Boston.

At one point trailing by19, the Heat battled back and got within three before the defending NBA East champs eventually pulled away and iced the game.

“We’ve said this was a team of destiny,” said Heat guard Dwyane Wade, who recruited James and Bosh to join him in Miami and scored only 13 points in the loss. “And if that destiny happens to be the first NBA team to never win a game, so be it.”
