After the Washington Post said it will no longer use the term “Redskins” in its sports pages, the Washington team owner, Daniel Snyder, asked the newspaper to compromise.

“Fine, if they don’t want to call my team ‘Redskins,’ I totally understand,” Snyder said in a team press release. “They can at least compromise by using other references I’ve offered.”

Among the names Snyder has asked the Post to use are Wahoos, Big Reds, Bow Benders and Tontos.
