A day after revealing that his former team faked injuries in an effort to slow down opposing offenses, Bears legend and current Fox Sports 1 personality Brian Urlacher admitted the Bears also called timeouts at random times to slow down their own offense.

“Apparently [former head coach] Lovie Smith thought the offense was moving too fast sometimes,” said Urlacher. “So we’d constantly be burning timeouts and delaying play calls in an effort to create the right pace. It didn’t work as well as the whole faking injuries on defense thing, but you live and learn.”

Other team secrets Urlacher divulged include the fact that he and his teammates frequently hooked up with chicks during halftime and that former defensive coordinator Bob Babich “only got the job because he was Lovie’s friend, but everybody knows that anyway, right?”
