White Sox slugger Paul Konerko will be participating in Sunday’s Chicago Marathon, and if he can beat last year’s time, he might even finish in less than a full day.

“When I started running in the marathon back in 2009, it took like 37 hours or something,” said Konerko. “But now that I’ve conditioned my body to run full speed the entire race, I’m hopeful I can get my time down to 24 hours or less.”

Fans can chart Konerko’s progress by multiplying his top speed, 1.1 miles per hour, by the number of hours that have passed since the start of the race.
