The Chicago Cubs have not yet lost a game in 2014, despite the year being days old. New manager Rick Renteria stressed how proud he was of the club’s effort so far under his leadership.
“Haven’t lost a game,” said the skipper. “The fact we haven’t played yet is irrelevant. Any time we can go a full day without dropping a contest, I’m happy.”
Other positive signs so far this year include Starlin Castro not daydreaming once during a play, no missed cutoff men, and the team still hasn’t blown a three-run lead by giving up a walkoff grand slam.
