Mike Ditka is one of the greatest of Chicago’s icons, so when he was invited by Marc Trestman to attend a Bears practice, it was no surprise that “Da Coach” offered his unique brand of wisdom to the team.

“Thanks to coach Marc for allowing me to visit with you,” said a humbled Ditka. “It’s my first time here since I left the team in 1992.”

Offering a bit of sage advice, Ditka told the group, “In life, before you can win, you have to believe you are worthy,” He added, “The ones who want to achieve and win championships motivate themselves.”

After enthusiastic applause, Ditka’s emotion intensified soon reaching a fever pitch. He then launched into a signature rant when he said, “Those who live in the past are cowards and losers.”

The Super Bowl winning coach then morphed into the inexplicable saying, “If God wanted man to play soccer; he wouldn’t have given us arms,” rendering even the most grizzled veterans speechless.

Team security was called in after a frothing Ditka ended his address by declaring, “Cutler, keep your mouth shut,” and “J’Marcus Webb, you’ve got the IQ of a grapefruit.”
