The Chicago Cubs have swooped in and claimed Donovan McNabb off of waivers. The Cubs feel McNabb has a bright future in the organization throwing infield practice before games.

“McNabb is a great fit,” said Cubs GM Jed Hoyer. “He can’t throw a ball ten yards anymore and that is exactly what we need. Our infielders need practice with those tricky short hops and all Donovan does is drive the ball directly into the turf.”

It wasn’t the homecoming that McNabb expected when he heard Chicago had made a waiver claim. The ex-QB tried to put a positive spin on things.

“Theo told me I would save the team a few hundred bucks a year on Fungos,” McNabb said. “That feels good. It is nice to be wanted.”
