Cicero native Mike Peluski spent the majority of Friday night trashing the Chicago Cubs for being “pathetic” and “the worst team in Chicago.” It wasn’t until around 2 a.m. that the guy next to him at the bar reminded him the White Sox lost 99 games last season, compared to the Cubs’ 96 losses.
“Wait, uh … seriously?” asked Peluski, dumbfounded. “No, that can’t be right. No [expletive deleted] way.”
According to witnesses, the South Side native promptly left the bar after learning that his own team’s farm system also lagged behind the Cubs.
“He was mumbling something about 2005 when he stormed out,” said a bar patron. “Something about how it wasn’t that long ago, I think.”
