Wirtz blacks out JumboTron replays at United Center; 'You pay for one ticket, you get one chance to see the game'

Notoriously stingy Chicago Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz has done it again, this time blacking out JumboTron replays for all home games.
"You pay for one ticket, you get one chance to see the game," said Wirtz, best known for refusing to locally televise his team's home games. "NHL action is a commodity to be enjoyed live and in-person."
While most NHL teams have taken a fan-friendly approach, hoping to lure back the crowds after a labor dispute killed last year's season, Wirtz and his team of bean-counters believe denying JumboTron replays will increase fan intensity.
As usual, Blackhawks fans feel otherwise.
"I was so excited the NHL was back I brought my family to the first game we could attend," said Todd Johnston, a lifelong Blackhawks fan from Naperville. "I missed a game-winning overtime goal because my son had to use the bathroom. I was hoping to at least see a replay on the scoreboard, but found out they aren't doing them this year. I still haven't seen that goal."
If "One Ticket: One Chance" is as successful as the Blackhawks front office hopes, they plan to release a bevy of similar enhancements. These include "Nacho Night," when every fan must buy an $8 order of nachos per period, and "Premium Parking Tuesdays," during which all United Center parking spots are considered premium $50 spaces.
