Spotted: Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy

White Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy was spotted by Doug the Sox Fan near Macy's at Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue yesterday. According to Doug: "Even though the 16-year-old McCarthy likely still lives with his parents, he, like every other teenager, didn’t listen to his mother when she told him to wear a jacket. I myself was worried that our team’s soon-to-be #5 starter would catch a cold in the 45-degree weather because he had on only a long-sleeved t-shirt. He was accompanied on his Christmas shopping by a young lady toting a very expensive handbag."

Doug's lovely wife Erin had this to say about McCarthy's ladyfriend:

"She was probably too cute for him -- tall and thin -- clearly only dating him because he can buy her expensive handbags. She looked to be all of 20, 22 at best -- pretty understated, not flashy like Konerko's sketchy wife. Brandon is gangly and unattractive. I think he weighs less than I do. If he were Neal Cotts, he would have had a way hotter girlfriend, like me!"
