White Sox pitcher Chris Sale will miss at least three weeks of spring training after suffering a foot injury while unloading former teammate Dayan Viciedo from the bed of a pickup truck.

Sale was dropping off Viciedo in Dunedin, Florida, the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, who signed the outfielder to a minor league deal.

“Dayan needed a ride and I’m the only one in camp with a vehicle big enough to carry the dude,” Sale said of the 250 lb. Cuban slugger. The injury occurred when Viciedo rolled out of the bed of the truck landing on the left-hander’s right foot.

Last season, Sale missed five weeks of the season with a flexor muscle strain in his pitching elbow, which occurred when he attempted to bench press Adam Dunn.
