Just a day after the NFL fined 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick $10,000 for wearing Beats by Dre headphones rather than a pair from league sponsor Bose, Chicago sportscaster David Kaplan received a similar fine. His fine, however, was from Beats by Dre for wearing their product during a recent TV ad for his sports talk radio station.
“Normally we’re all about everyone possible wearing our headphones when they’re on TV,” said Dr. Dre, co-founder of the electronics company, now owned by Apple. “But this David Kaplan guy? Not the kind of guy we want repping our brand.”
