Thousands of NASCAR fans woke up this morning and reflected on the accident that injured a couple dozen fans in Daytona. Most fans seem upset that they were not tuned into the event live when the accident happened.

“You sit here through tedious and nauseating lap after lap just waiting to see something, anything interesting happen and then as soon as you flip over to Swamp People or Teen Mom this happens,” said one fan who admits watching NASCAR only for the crashes. “I feel bad for those people but I really regret missing it.”

Other notes for today:  Despite the crash, NASCAR intends to go on with the race, weather permitting.  Also of historical note is the fact Danica Patrick will be breaking a gender barrier and be the first woman to start from the pole in Daytona history.  At least since Bike week.
