After another bad Mark Sanchez performance, Rex Ryan annoints him ‘Starter for Life’
The Jets lost again on Sunday afternoon, this time in New England against the hated Patriots and male model/QB Tom Brady.
Mark Sanchez, embattled Jets quarterback, had yet another uneasy game in the loss, throwing an ugly interception and committing a few fumbles, while showing some positive signs on effective drives down the field. While many argue his performance against the Patriots showed backup Tim Tebow deserves at least a few more snaps per game, if not the starting job entirely, coach Rex Ryan disagreed.
Ryan affirmed Sanchez’s place on the team and in the depth chart with a mid-week press conference:
“First, let me just say that we expect more out of Mark,” he said. “That’s why I’m making him our ‘Starter for Life.’ We believe if we give the kid a few more decades, he could really turn heads in this league.”
