Just for laughs, NFL hires Pee Wee Football referees for 2012 season
on Sep 9, 2012
After the NFL took its players, coaches, and fans all for a huge ride on Wednesday night by having college referees officiate the season-opening Cowboys-Giants game, they took it a step further today by announcing that youth football, specifically Pee Wee level, officials will cover the rest of the 2012-13 season games as replacements for the locked-out legitimate refs.
“Why not?” asked Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner. “These Pee Wee refs are some of the hardest-working officials in the sport today. If they can deal with 7-year-old kids that complain about every call, why can’t they deal with 25-year-olds that complain about every call?”
“Also, we don’t have to pay these guys as much because they still are Pee Wee refs, so the league can save even more money. In addition, it would be pretty funny to see Pee Wee officials referee NFL games. It’s like a win-win-win-win-win!”
