Shaw legally changes name to Shea, reinstated for Game 3
on Apr 17, 2012
Andrew Shaw was recently suspended three games for a hit to Coyotes goalie Mike Smith, but the young forward was able to get out of the punishment simply by changing his name to “Andrew Shea,” confusing Brendan Shanahan into thinking he was a star in the league.
“Wait, did you say Shea?” Shanahan asked, referring to Nashville Predators superstar Shea Weber, who was not suspended for slamming an opponent’s player into the glass. “My bad. I thought he was a nobody! Guys like Shea are held to a totally different standard. Of course he can play tonight!”
