NFL joins the Linsanity, will rename 2017 Championship ‘Super Bowl LIN’

In an attempt to piggyback on the recent breakout success of the New York Knicks’ Jeremy Lin, the National Football League announced that the 2017 Super Bowl will be renamed ‘Super Bowl LIN’.
“It would have been called ‘Super Bowl LI’ anyway, so we figured adding the extra ‘N’ wouldn’t be a big deal,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “Besides, Jeremy wears No. 17 and the event will take place in 2017, so it all makes perfect sense.”
When asked if the NFL would also rename the succeeding two years ‘Super Bowl LIIN’ and ‘Super Bowl LIIIN’, Goodell would not commit at this time, but did add that he hopes Jeremy Lin would opt for a career in the NFL.
“The guy is like 6’ 3” or 6′ 4″,” said Goodell. “He could certainly be a twice-cut, breakout success tight end for one of our teams.”
