Tayshaun not happy having to share his name with Fielder

It would seem that not everyone in the Motor City is happy with the recent signing of big name slugger Prince Fielder. Word around the Palace is that there is another Prince who is unhappy about sharing his name.

“I don’t see what all the hype is about,” said Tayshaun Prince. “I’ve been here my whole career. He ain’t done nothin yet. He ain’t got no championships, no rings, no belts, no nothin. He ain’t even played a game yet.

“I ain’t givin up my crown. Not no how, not no way. Everybody’s throwin out the welcome mat for this dude, but he ain’t done nothin. He didn’t block Reggie Miller. He wasn’t no 13th man on Team USA. He ain’t star in no Belle Tire commercials. I did all that. And people will remember who the real Prince of this town is long after he’s gone.”

Tayshaun is backing up his tough talk with his play. Posting 12.1 points per game (his lowest in eight years), 3.9 boards (his lowest since his rookie season) and a career low 41.6 shooting percentage.

One thing’s for certain — this town isn’t big enough for two princes and if this were The Lion King, Tayshaun would play Scar while Fielder would be a grown Simba who’s returned home to sit at the throne his father Cecil once sat in.
