During the first game of the Eastern Conference finals between the Bulls and Heat, a visibly shaken Derrick Rose spent much of the game assuming he was being haunted by a ghost on court, until coach Tom Thibodeau informed the league MVP that it was just Miami point guard Mike Bibby. Rose had to be repeatedly reminded that the 12-year-veteran was in fact a living, corporeal professional basketball player, and not some sort of specter or Bogeyman.

When Rose was reached for comment regarding the incident, he told reporters, “I know it sounds silly, and I honestly don’t believe in ghosts myself, but when I saw Bibby on the court, I could have sworn that he was not a living creature.”

According to multiple sources, many court side fans also felt similarly, and dozens ran screaming from their seats when Bibby was joined by Zydrunas Ilgauskas on the court. Bibby is expected to have a press conference later this week to state on the record that he is not a ghost, and has in no way taken physical form as a way to get his affairs in order to allow him to move on to the afterlife.
